Regional Natural Resource Management
Strategic Actions on the South Coast
South Coast NRM Inc. has made significant in-roads towards the achievement of a comprehensive set of Management Action Targets (MATs) under its current Regional Strategy for NRM. The current funding cycle (known as NHT2) has directed NRM actions in the Region through a multi-million dollar three-year Investment Plan due to conclude in June 2008.
Regional NRM action and associated targets are set by the community and guide the sustainable management of South Coast natural resources. Medium and long term goals include the preservation of high value natural assets and a profitable future for several important industries including agriculture and forestry.
Funding for the Regional NRM Investment Plan has been provided through the Australian and Western Australian Governments’ key NRM programs, the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) and the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP).
