Resource Condition Targets (RCTs)

Resource condition target (RCT) is the expression used to describe how progress on meeting the long-term outcomes for the Region’s natural resources will be measured.

Management Action Targets (MATs)

Management action describes the activities that will be taken to meet the RCTs and include on ground works, building community capacity, developing our information base, benchmarking and monitoring of our performance, and any additional planning or policy measures required. A management action target (MAT) is the short-term target (mostly one to five years) designed to assist in measuring the Region’s progress on implementation of the Strategy.

Regional NRM Strategy

Guiding NRM Investment

Since the accreditation and endorsement of Southern Prospects 2004-2009: the South Coast Strategy for NRM and The NRM Investment Plan for the South Coast of WA by the Western Australian and Australian Governments, we are now implementing on ground NRM activity.

The development of the Strategy is the result of inclusive and extensive involvement with partner organisations and involved a comprehensive consultation process of wider community engagement that identified regional priorities and provided input into setting realistic targets for NRM.

The Strategy aims to strengthen our Region’s capacity through integration of purpose and effort. This strategic framework provides the vision for NRM, an assessment of the Region’s natural resources, specific goals and targets, required actions, and the basis for investment.
