This project will mitigate the impacts of Phytophthora Dieback through the application of phosphite on the Threatened Ecological Communities (TECs) listed below:
- Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation ACT 1999 (EPBC) listed Montane Heath and Thicket
- State listed Montane Mallee Thicket
- Mount Lindesay/Little Lindesay Vegetation Complex
This project will also mitigate the impacts of rabbit infestations, which pose a threat to the Montane Heath and Thicket TEC at Bluff Knoll.
The project will establish trail markers on the Ridge Walk through priority areas of Montane Heath and Thicket Threatened Ecological Community (TEC) which will reduce trail braiding and erosion. Where resources additional to Caring for Our Country are available through State funding, the project will coordinate additional phosphite spraying for high value threatened flora outside of the Stirling Range. This is to be done in collaboration with South Coast Natural Resource Management Inc. (South Coast NRM Inc.) |
